Komplekt is a cultural management and consultancy agency focused on design and other creative practices. The Studio generates content and manages self-initiated as well as commissioned projects.
In the 17th episode of the Design Kit podcast we are in the company of Andrea Popjordanova and Victoria Staykova, two thirds of the creative trio Chark. United by their interest in the book and print form, in 2016 they founded the platform for independent Bulgarian author publications together with Mila Yaneva-Tabakova. The mission of TI-RE is to position this type of publication in the space of the contemporary Bulgarian book. They do it through open invitations, exhibitions and talks. Since 2022, they are also behind TIRAGE, an online and physical collection of publications by Bulgarian authors.
Individually, each has her own strong authorial approach and leaves a distinctive creative mark in the design of books and visual identities - Andy and Mila are freelancers, while Vicky is co-founder of the bookstore Avirtikl and art director at an advertising agency. Their work is a real pleasure to look at repeatedly and has a particular feel layered through the drawings, choice of colours and materials, lines and fonts. They are passionate about socially engaged projects and those that develop contemporary culture and visual communication in the country. This is why we invited Andy, Vicky and Mila to curate the Bulgarian Design Review exhibition. It is a kind of highlight of the international design festival Melba that we have organized.
