Komplekt is a cultural management and consultancy agency focused on design and other creative practices. The Studio generates content and manages self-initiated as well as commissioned projects.
In the latest episode of season two of Komplekt on Design we meet Luba Haleva, an artist, designer, illustrator, and creator of some of the most recognizable book covers in Bulgaria.
She is a graduate of the National Academy of Art, specializing in Poster and Visual Communications. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and festivals both in Bulgaria and abroad and has received several awards. Lyuba also has experience in the field of theatrical posters for the Ivan Vazov National Theatre and the Sfumato Theatre Workshop.
Some of her awards include the Hristo G. Danov award in the "Book Art" category in 2015 and the Golden Lion for Best Publishing Project of 2016 for her graphic design of "Весел гъделичкащ смях" ("A Joyous Tickling Laughter") by Margarit Minkov, published by Zhanet 45.
Lyuba highlights her favorite projects as those she has worked on for a longer time, such as the series Short Stories Forever, The Sea Series, Virchow Blues, and the poetry of Cummings, Frost, and Eliot. As part of our project The Tarnovian in 2024, Lyuba Haleva created a cover for an imaginary book dedicated to Tarnovo, and the second part of The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell is about to be released.
