Komplekt is a cultural management and consultancy agency focused on design and other creative practices. The Studio generates content and manages self-initiated as well as commissioned projects.
In episode six of our podcast, we talk to Dima Stefanova and Filip Boyadzhiev, primarily associated with the Know-How-Show-How creativity and design educational program. Dima founded the platform in 2015. She is a graduate of the Dutch accademia Gerrit Rietveld and divides her life between the Netherlands and Bulgaria. She is a curator of educational programs and a cultural entrepreneur. Filip Boyadzhiev joined her team after teaching at the National Academy of Art and has a successful career as a graphic designer behind him. He aligns himself with the overall vision of alternative models of art and design education.
The occasion for our conversation is the exhibition Object of Relationships. Review of Bulgarian Design 2023 - the main focus of the programme of the sixth edition of the design festival MELBA, produced by Komplekt. Object of Relationships focuses on the interaction between designers and producers, documenting the process of creating new design objects through dialogue and collaboration.
We talk about traditional and alternative design education; their shared vision, role and responsibility in building alternative educational models in the field. Dima and Filip share their curious experiences in creating the Object of Relationships project.
